What each part is, and what it fixes on a TJ
The TJ's rear axle rides on four control arms. Lifting the Jeep rotates the axle and moves the pinion angle, and it can pull the axle off center in the wheel well. Adjustable arms let you set both back.
Rough Country 11910 uses its X-Flex joint at the threaded end: a ball-in joint with a 2.5 in. body and 1.25 in. threads. The uppers pivot up to 20 degrees and the lowers up to 35. The other end of each arm is a bushing eye.
TeraFlex 1614800 and 1615700 are its short FlexArms. The install sheets put a greasable flex joint at the axle end and a rubber bushing at the frame end. The lower kit ships with new Clevite rubber bushings.
TeraFlex says the arms re-center the axle in the wheel well and can also stretch the wheelbase. The 1615700 lowers fit the front or rear of a TJ, so one pair covers the rear.

The lift ceiling is the fitment difference that matters. TeraFlex stops at 4 in. and Rough Country goes to 6.5 in. Neither lists a TJ trim it will not fit.

Both sets put flex at one end and rubber at the other. That layout keeps some road isolation, which is the usual reason to choose it over joints at both ends.
TeraFlex publishes its tube, and Rough Country does not. The 1614800 adjustment range comes from Off Road Alliance, a dealer. That listing also gives a heavier tube (1-3/4 x 0.281 in.) than TeraFlex's own page, and we use the maker's figure.

Install compared
Rough Country's sheet pulls the coil springs. You disconnect the lower shocks and sway bar links, lower the axle and remove the springs. It quotes 4-6 hours, with the e-brake line bracket moved to the new upper arm.
TeraFlex's sheets never call for pulling the springs. You swap no more than two arms at a time. You pull the parking brake cable bracket and any ABS wiring, set the length and bolt in. TeraFlex quotes 2 hours per kit and a full four-wheel alignment after.

Rough Country's starting lengths run 1 1/4 in. longer on the upper and 3/4 in. longer on the lower. Both makers say the numbers are a starting point, and the final setting comes from the alignment.
What it changes on the Jeep, and what else you'll need
Both sets let you tune rear pinion angle and axle position after a lift. TeraFlex adds anti-squat tuning to that list. Neither sheet gives a target pinion angle.
TeraFlex requires an alignment, and Rough Country wants one immediately. Budget for it with the arms. Our list of what a lift breaks covers the track bar, brake lines and driveline parts that often come next.
Warranty and support
TeraFlex: the install sheets warrant its suspension products "to the original retail purchaser to be free of defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle on which products were originally installed." The TeraFlex warranty page lists control arms under lifetime coverage.
Two conditions matter on a TJ. "Failure to complete regular maintenance (grease every 3000 miles) on TeraFlex FlexArms will void this warranty." It also excludes "products that fail due to the use of larger tire and wheel combinations", along with finish, racing and abuse.
Rough Country: we could not read the 11910 terms. The roughcountry.com page blocked automated access on 10 September 2026, and the catalog data holds no warranty text. Ask the seller for them in writing.

Who should buy which
Buy the Rough Country 11910 if your lift is over 4 in., because TeraFlex does not rate these arms past that. Buy it too if $495.03 matters more to you than a written spec sheet.
Buy the TeraFlex 1614800 + 1615700 if you run 0-4 in. and want published tube specs, a quicker install and a warranty that lasts as long as you own the Jeep. Keep a grease log, because skipping it voids that warranty.
Winner on 0-4 in. lifts: TeraFlex. Above 4 in., the Rough Country set is the one rated for the height, so it wins by default.
FAQ
Will the TeraFlex short arms work on a 6 in. lift?
TeraFlex lists 1614800 and 1615700 for 0-4 in. lifts. Rough Country recommends the 11910 for 0 to 6.5 in., so above 4 in. the Rough Country set is the one rated for the job.
Can grease intervals void the TeraFlex warranty?
Yes. TeraFlex's instructions say failure to grease the FlexArms every 3000 miles voids the warranty. The same sheets tell you to grease the flex joint once per month.
Which end does the flex joint go on?
On the TeraFlex arms the rubber bushing end goes in the frame bracket and the flex joint goes at the axle. Rough Country's arms also pair one threaded joint with one bushing, but its sheet does not say which end goes where.
Does the TeraFlex warranty cover big tires?
Not for failures caused by them. The TeraFlex warranty excludes products that fail due to the use of larger tire and wheel combinations.
