A Wrangler is the only vehicle most people own where the roof, the doors and the windshield are all optional. That is the appeal, and it is also a set of decisions nobody explains properly before you have already bought the wrong one.
The trade-offs are consistent: everything that makes a TJ more open makes it louder, wetter and easier to break into, and everything that makes it more sealed makes it heavier and slower to open up. What matters is which side of that you actually want on a Tuesday.
